Are you using all terrain vehicles safely?

ATVs have been in the news recently following an HSE study in Scotland where a staggering 62% weren’t using them safely! Every year, ATVs claim the lives of at least two and leave over 1,000 people injured on average so education and training is clearly needed.

The IOSH Rural Industries Group is addressing the problem on Thursday 22 July with a truly hands–on experience where the day will be divided into four sessions – ATVs, 4×4 vehicles, winching and a classroom–based information presentation which will address include recent accident history, the legal use of these types of vehicles, key issues for risk assessment and training and examples of managing risk for these activities.

Held at the Greetham Valley Hotel and Golf Club, Wood Lane, Greetham, Rutland, LE15 7SN, the event will be organised so that all participants can “have a go” during each practical session with full instruction from a BORDA (British Off Road Driving Association) trainer.

The day will be at a cost of £75 + VAT for members and £90 + VAT for non–members. Book by Friday 6th July to be guaranteed a place
